What kind of focus issues does a nation have to have, when an athlete is thoroughly disgraced and broken because of a hit off a joint?

Your current President can be a toker and an admitted user of and I quote from his journal, "blow when you could afford it." In fact, several of your previous Presidents have also admitted to pot use at one time or another, and life just rolls along as normal for them! Hell! You'll see those Presidents joking about it on Saturday Night Live!
But a kid at a party is seen with a pipe to his mouth, we should bust his ass and take away all that he's worked for dammit!
Your national game is a disgrace and records for the last ten to twelve years should probably all be thrown out the window, due to performance enhancing drugs. Who's using, who's not, who's honest about it, who's in denial? A total crapshoot as to who is legit and who's a super-user. The sport is a farce right now and that's a real shame for a game with such a beautiful, long and storied history in the world of sport.

A professional Basketball player damn near becomes legendary, for abusing a 19 year old girl in a hotel room and settling out of court. Hell! The team flew him in and out of L.A. daily, so he could be in court, but still make the games at night. Maybe that's just a part of that game though? Who was it before? Oh yeah that's right! Didn't Ruben Patterson from the Sonics do hard time for rape as well? Fifteen day's.... FOR RAPE! YES.... DAY'S!

If you can help me understand why Michael Phelps should even be under the microscope as much as he is, let alone as far under the bus as it seems most are willing to throw him right now, I would greatly appreciate it.
Why don't we spend a little of our energy focusing on getting a few of our friends gainfully employed again, or maybe take a look at that minor little pollution issue that the half-million dump sites nationwide may be causing for our kids. There might even be a couple of other things a little higher on our list of "issues" that need to be dealt with, other than young master Phelps and his momentary inhale.
Crazy thought here! Why doesn't someone smarter than me figure out how to tie UIGEA and a little grass together? Since your new #1 man Barrack admitted that he too googled Phelps Pot for the whole story, it surely couldn't hurt.
Oh and don't even think of hitting me up with that, "Michael Phelps is a role model for our kids" crap either! If the President of the United States of America isn't supposed to be a role model for your kids, I don't know who the hell is. Isn't your country special, because anyone can grow up to be President? Even the occasional use as a kid, pot smoker?
