The WPBT Warm Up & Turkey talk....

First off - The WPBT Warm Up.

Alright kids what is it, like 10 sleeps 'till the WPBT gathering officially gets under way? WAY TOO LONG! Having no patience for waits such as this, I asked AlCantHang to co-host a little WPBT Warm Up event with me. (read: I asked him to do all the work and I'd just tag my name on at the end somewhere!) We figured a pre-WPBT event would help serve a few important purposes.

1) It gives everyone going to our gathering a chance to make a few mobneys. Mobneys that of course, can be used to buy Al and I a drink at the gathering. :)

2) With a good showing of support for the event and a win by Al or myself, we'd at least have some idea of how we were going to pay for approximately 1% of our planned bar tab at this years gathering.

3) It gives those that have to miss this years event, a chance to participate in the WPBT in at least some small way.

4) Hopefully it helps everyone to kill a few more hours of the friggin' wait.

So this Friday December the 4th at 10:00pm ET, there will be a WPBT Warm Up held on FullTilt. The game will be deep stack H.O.R.S.E. for a measley $10 + $1 buy-in.

As you can see,

I'm already registered.

The very clever P/W = vegasin1week

Al and I hope to see a strong showing of WPBT gatherers for this one! As starting The 2009 WPBT gathering with bragging rights like a win in this event, surely has to be hard to beat!

Whether you're actually going to make this years gathering or not, we hope to "see" all our friends out for this event.

If you get the chance, pimping this event will obviously gain you magic karma bonus points for life!

:)

= = = = = =

As mentioned sometime last week, I sat down at the virtual felt with a few of my good friends in Pauly's Turkey Cup last Thursday night. What a great time!

Now that may have been because of the Donkey start I had, where I luck-sack cracked Aces. Totally miss-read the hand, but sucked out just the same.

We'll mark that one down in the category of, races I win. Okay, Okay! So we'll have to start a new file for that one, since I've never won a race before.

My starting table where I was placed just to the left of the lovely Mrs. Dank, improved once again with the additions of my fellow BB and CHANGE 100.

That made for a much prettier table indeed!
UH, CHANGE that is!

BadBlood tossed 400 into the pot for a raise on my big blind soon after. Having a little fun rather than actually playing Poker, I made it 700 on top of his raise.

It was probably just the opportunity for that screen cap. that made me make a hammer raise there, but who knows? Maybe it was a "little" Poker after all.

As is typically the case for me, I went out on a pretty good read. I put Shiesty on a mid to strong Ace here and quite honestly said, "gotta' be the Asian-Jew" out loud, before jamming my stack into the middle. There was a quick call and all the chips were in the middle pre-flop.

I was off by one card on my read and naturally, I was kicked in the junk.

Great chat did follow though;

Badblood44: Damn Bammer. I thought you were always making that stuff up.
BamBamCan: I won a race once.
Badblood44: The guy must've been a cripple!

That left me with 500 chips and a prayer. I jammed with 9-10 into a pot that would quadruple me up, but it was not to be. So out I go.

32 place of the 84 runners. Great time though and as always, it was great to "see" everyone along the way.

Well, that's it for now. I hope everyone can see fit to pimp and participate in The WPBT Warm Up this week.

Ten sleeps kids!
Just ten more sleeps 'till Vegas!

My sincerest thanks for dropping by....

Occasionally and forever....

Occasionally, the wind blows me in a direction that might not be the best.

Occasionally, words fall from my mouth that should have consequences.

Occasionally I fall, wondering if I'll ever manage the strength to pick myself up.

Occasionally, I look around and wonder what it was I did.

Occasionally, I make a rather large mistake.

Occasionally, I make a bunch of little ones.

Occasionally, I try too hard.

Occasionally, I don't try hard enough.

Occasionally I say, "things just happened."

Occasionally, I know that I let them.

Occasionally, I'm sure I've let you down.

Occasionally, I've let myself down too.

Occasionally I wonder what it is, that you see in me.

But then there's forever.

Forever is how long it seems to me, that we have been soul mates.

Forever is how long you've lifted my spirit, when all seems so bleak.

Forever put quite simply, is what I can only hope to spend with you.

Happy Birthday Peb's.

You will always have all of the love I hold in my heart.

Somehow by some strange miracle, I hope that you realize that I will always love you.

With all that I am.

The Tao of Turkey....

We typically call it "pimping" when we spread the word about others exploits or endeavours here on the intertubles of Poker blogging. Considering the enjoyment I get out of reading about his exploits at The Hooker Bar, that definition could probably be considered appropriate I guess. But with Thursday being Thanksgiving South of the border, it only seems fitting for me to consider today's post just that.

Thanksgiving!

You see Pauly's running a little pre-WPBT get together over on Stars this Thursday night and for me personally, I see participating in it as a good way to say thanks for everything he provides for me to read throughout the year.

When given the right opportunity to just pick up and head out to see any select group of my temporarily invisible friends, most know that I'll do just about anything I can to make it happen. When it does all come together what most of them fail to realize is, I think I get FAR more out of the experience than they do.

Sometimes though we're held hostage by the situation at hand and the only way we can manage a little get-together time, is over the virtual felt of the games we all love to play and write about. Not much would make me happier than to be sitting at a table slinging chips face-to-face, with this old school core group of degenerates that I now consider my friends. But until a few more entirely too fuckin' long days go by, I will have to manage to get by "seeing" everyone at Pauly's Turkey Cup.

It's this kids humble opinion, that you should too.

All the facts are there on the banner but just in case, you can look under the Private tab in Tournies to find the event. For the ultimate in laziness after gobbling down the third piece of Pumpkin Pie that's helping to hold down the half a Turkey you can't believe you managed to shove down your gullet, I'm already registered in the game. Just do a 'find player' for BamBamCan under the requests tab.

I hope to see everyone out for the fun.

To all of our friends to the South, Peb's and I sincerely hope you have the Happiest of Thanksgivings. You deserve nothing less! If only for all of the smiles and laughs you've provided us with, over the last several years.

My sincerest thanks for dropping by....

Look what wee Todd did....

WOW! I see that this is post numero 500. That should be big news in this little corner of the intertubles all on it's own. Surprisingly though, bigger things have been going on.

I look pretty good as a winner huh!

As mentioned here a few times before, Peb's and I have been slinging a few chips with the fine folks from The Canadian Amateur Poker Tour. It gets us out of the cave once in a while and with the WPBT coming up, it's good to get the feel of actual chips in our hands. Rather than just clicking some stupid little button.

There's also a few added side bonuses like hanging out with Brudder Carson and DonKaa, who also make the trek out for some fun. Throw in the fact that the games are played at what we can finally call our own little Pub down the road, and it all makes for a pretty great night of Poker.

I'd bitched and complained about free bar Poker on several occasions, comparing the standard play in NLHE free rolls to basically getting repeatedly kicked in the junk. Of course it really can be like that, particularly when you continually get in with the best of it, only to have miracle runner-runners come along to take away all of your steam. But that can happen in any game and I may have been a little too hard on this game at first.

The President of The Canadian Amateur Poker Tour is a hard working guy, trying to really make something out of his vision for Poker around this area. He even deals the final table, making sure that everything is done just right. It is still in it's infancy and quite naturally, there will be some small hiccups along the way on any given night. But Kelly's always there to get everything straightened out and running back to as smooth as the players will allow. If you're in the area of one of the C.A.P.T. games at your local establishment, I suggest you give it a shot.

Up here we don't have access to the best Free Bar Poker running South of the border. But I think if Kelly keeps working as hard as he has been on the C.A.P.T., he might be able to make it the Riverchasers of the North! That can't be anything but great news, for all the kids hanging out around Bedrock!

My sincerest thanks for dropping by....

2009 WPBT Gathering Challenge : The early odds....

All three of you that read here know, I'm no Greek and my name's not Jimmy. Then there's that OTHER fact, I-AM-NOT-A-GEEK!

So putting odds to a bunch of degenerates sitting down to play a little two card lottery called NLHE, ought to be right up my alley right?

RIGHT!

Luckbox thought he'd challenge the gang to a little three person last longer bet, at our Winter Classic gathering coming up in a few days or so. I figured what the hell! Someone has to lay odds on the teams that have been entered in the thing so far.

Why not me?

So here we go!

Team Up For Poker (but mostly Frolf) - Otis, G-Rob & The Luckbox

On paper alone, this team seems to be capable of standing up to the best of us! But then again, they are counting on Otis being able to stand up. Not a guarantee as we all know. There's also the Caesar's Palace thing going on. You know! The air rammed in at hyper-sonic speeds and a ventilation system un-equaled anywhere else on the strip. Poor G-Rob stands no chance when it comes to cards, while having to worry so much about "the do." I am a touch worried about The Luckbox though! I've heard he'll be accompanied by the lovely "Lady Luck" this time around and lord knows if I understand the power of anything, it's having that special someone behind you!

Let's lay 777 - 1 on this team.

= = = =

Team Wheelchair - Drizz, AlCantHang & Milwaukee Steve

FUCK ME!

A drunk, a drunk and a drunker! Face it folks if there's one thing I do know, it's how to hang with the drunk kids! This team smells of alcohol and river cards! BEWARE! If it wasn't for the multiple Cap'n Cokes and the thought of The Wife in a purple thong, hmmmmmmmmmmm.........

What was I saying again?

Oh yeah, Drizz! The dealer will only be giving him two cards instead of the usual four so right off the bat, this dudes playing at only 50%! Then there's the fact that Caesar's hasn't carried SoCo behind any of it's bars since Cher left to find out who the hell "Chas" Bono was. Let's face it, Al is fucked!

It's the Beer drinking cheese curd eater that we all need to watch out for I think.

Blood Alcohol Content for this team alone, probably makes them a heavy favourite.

0.51 - 1 and as always, wheelchairs will be standing by.

= = = =

Team Waffles - Waffles, Jordan & The Doc

Right off the bat I'll hold back any comments, at least until the laughter somewhat subsides.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Done yet?

Here's how I see it. Waffles doubles up the very first hand with a standard 3x raise pre-flop. He hits his double gutter on the river after jamming his stack in on the draw, and then realizes he's made an amazing and miraculous cracking of pocket aces. Unfortunately for the team, they happened to be Jordan's aces. The very next hand after being dealt pocket ducks, Waffles can't believe some idiot would call his all-in pre-flop with nothing but pocket 3's. He's left crippled with a starting stack and after not improving on the flop, turn or river on the third hand of the event, Waffles jams his stack in with the hammer and as we all know, that only works for the rest of us!

The crazy part about all this is, no one actually see's The Doc at the event. It appears that his attempt to finally stay awake through a Steel Panther show on Friday night, seems to have gotten the best of the old fellow!

33 1/3 - 1

= = = =

Team Gambling Tales - Falstaff, Special K & Mr's Falstaff

SRSLY! MRS. FRIGGIN' FALSTAFF!
I guess Phil Ivey was busy huh?

OK so Falstaff starts taking notes on a hand. That turns into a Pulitzer prize winning novel and when all is said and done he just smirks and say's, "Hey! We've all had to make our Choices right?" Unfortunately for team Gambling Tales, Special K ends up being "that guy." A flopped set of ladies will be no match for the player making "a move." I just pray it's not my move when it happens! The lovely Mrs. Falstaff damn near conquers all and quite naturally, final tables this be-yatch!

666 - 13

= = = =

Team Just a Girl - F-Train, CK & The Wife

This ones really quite easy, as they just never really get off the ground. Once of course the captain is found to be quite hetrosexual and in fact, kind of into Women of the Asian persuasion. The first ever "red-card" in Poker is thrown down at the start, leaving Team Just a Girl down to only two players. CK and The Wife continue to limp and raise pre-flop despite getting no action, leaving only the blinds being shoved their way by the dealers. They both eventually blind out saying, "MEN! Can't live without them, can't kill them!"

69 - 1

= = = =

Team Tao of Pot - Pauly, Derek & Change 100

Despite making a valiant effort in this match, eventually the blind structure ensures that there will be two 4:20's in this here tournament. The blinds just eat away at them like the munchies. Their stacks might as well have been the pretzels on the hooker bar at The Rio. Who knows what they're really made of, but everyone's had their hands in them.

4:20 - 1

= = = =

As far as I know right now, that leaves us with one final team registered.

Team Canada - Fuel, Schaubs & Bam-Bam

In an attempt to find something bloggable, (by his standards) Fuel jams Presto an unprecidented 55 times throughout the event. Un-effing-believably, it holds EVERY single time! With cries of jubilation ringing across the Poker room of "Presto is GOLD!" this gets our lad quite deep into the game. Schaubs on the other hand, is much more methodical in his approach to reaching the final table. Breaking the event down into an 18 hole format, our Schwabbles makes a Tiger'esque putt in the form of a case card King on the river, after running his pocket Kings into pocket Aces late in the event. This flopped set over set huge pot win, propels Schaubs to final table with the chip lead. From there, Schaubs just takes the remaining players, "one hole at a time."

This leaves yours truly, the one true wildcard in the entire event! In an attempt to throw me of my fold, fold, fold, fold game, several degenerates come up with a plan to send the young Asian Cocktail Waitress with the man made cleavage my way. Totally distracted and unable to actually think about what it is I'm doing, I miss-read several hands quite pathetically, only to find my Ace high is good enough to take down the pots. The evil plan gets altered accordingly and the hawt Redhead working at the front of the room, is sent to my table next. Nearly over the top with excitment at the sight of those luscious red curls and the near perfect ass that goes with them, I make the mistake of the tourney with only twenty one players remaining. In a move to tip the little cutie, I inadvertantly topple my largest stack over the line and into the pot. "Raise" I hear the dealer say. Once I realize the error that has just occured, I don't even look at my hole cards when two players with short stacks go all-in.

We'll just have to see how that works out for me the day of, as I'd hate to ruin the surprise for anyone that's going to be there. Including me!

This team is Canadian and therefore the odds continue to shift. Here's what they've looked like so far.

Gretzky - 1
Crosby - 1
Bourque - 1
Lemieux - 1
Jovanovski - 1
Brodeur - 1
Yzerman - 1

all before settling in at favorites with,

Orr - 1 odds

With numbers like that, I can't say I like anyone elses chances!

As more teams are entered, perhaps we'll take another look at the odds as the event gets closer. Good luck everyone and as always....

My sincerest thanks for dropping by....

Frantic Friday : The Waterfront Edition.... (NSFW)

Hello again Frantic Friday lovers!

Welcome to a very special, "inside the mind of Bam-Bam" edition. I know, I know! Getting inside there just has a scary ring to it doesn't it?

There really is no need to be afraid though afterall, I'm in there and look how I turned out!

Oh.... I see what you mean.

Anywho....

With the weather being so unusually warm around Bedrock these last few weeks, I made the decision that we all needed a day off here at the cave. Everyone including myself had been showing signs of being run down and totally drained, from such a hectic Frantic Friday season.

So I simply told everyone that we we're shutting Bedrock down for business on Wednesday and the day off with pay, was completely on me!

There were actually cheers let out, when I told the crew that I was taking them down to

for our day off.

Now I know what you're thinking! 'Man that Bammer's a great guy.'

Well honestly I feel the need to share a little secret with you. You see, taking

down for a day at

is not exactly without a few fringe benefits for yours truly.

;)

So as we all romped around and had an amazing day down by the water, it truly became a great way to say

and release all the stress and strain, from the grind that can be our Frantic Fridays.

Now, I mentioned those fringe benefits right?

It wasn't long into our fun in the sun that Thelma from Sales and Marketing was

out to me that three of the little hotties from the office, had forgotten to bring their bathing suits.

Like real troopers though, this DID NOT deter them in the slightest. Even better, (to me!) than going skinny dipping, they just mixed up what I thought was a great combination of

I just couldn't take my eyes off of them!

That's when Thelma and a few others mentioned, that they thought I had a bit of a fetish going on.

I totally denied it at first but you know what? They might just be on to something here. I mean like any normal kid my age, I was really into that Farrah poster. You know the one right? The red bathing suit shot!

I also despite never watching the show for any real entertainment value other than

always seemed to have B.J. and The Bear on my TV in my younger days.

So quite possibly it is true. I just may have a bit of a nipple through clothing fetish after all!

Come to think of it when Women's Tennis is played under the exact right conditions, meaning relatively high

I can't manage to turn my head away from the game!

Oh well! I think there's way worse fetishes to have than this one right gang?

I mean what's really wrong with a kid having a thing for a good game of

after all?

Considering the big picture in the scheme of things kids, there could be a lot worse fetishes for me to have than just thinking that a hawt women in a wet or sheer top looks

right!

RIGHT!

Man that is one great pic though huh!

Stuff like that get's me all wound up alright! Maybe I can talk Peb's into a nice long HAWT

when she gets home from work tonight?

Man.....

just thinking about that!

I'd best be getting my mind on other things now. Let's go back to the day off at the beach shall we?

One thing I did forget to mention to many of the newbies that came out for the day was, how

the salt water can be on dainty and delicate materials.

Man did that ever make for some interesting times!

But that's not going to get my mind off things, is it?

I know! I'll tell you all about how how even despite a massive storm in the middle of our beach soccer game, everyone was having so much fun that no one wanted to stop for a

Hmmmmmmmmm.........

I've got it pretty bad don't I?

It's OK though because while I was loading that pic into the site, I looked this shit up in some of the top medical journals.

What I have may be a bit of a fetish for certain, but it is very common amongst kids my age and it's commonly refered to as

syndrome.

Thankfully I have a brudder who's a Doc and just maybe, he can be the one to snap me out of my little issues!

Man oh man! Why couldn't I have developed a much simpler form of fetish, for say something like

HOLY CRAP!

I think I just did!

;)

That's all for now kiddies!
So as always, until next time....

My sincerest thanks for dropping by....

Tick....Tick....Tick ======>

Just look at how SLOW, that little counter over there is moving!

I mean seriously!
Cooooooommmmmmmmme ooooon right?

I see that the initial wave of WPBT excitement posts have started rolling in now. That always get the anticipation building within me.

It's always in these pre-trip days that I remember Kat's very first and might I add QUITE correct advice, when we discussed my first visit out for the gathering.

"Plan not babes. The best things just kind of happen."

I used that advice for that first gathering and of course, for EH Vegas. It stuck with me for a silly G-Vegas weekend and also for my first BASH. Every single time so far, her words have rung true and helped me have a great time at every single event. So being the smart cookie that I am, I'm running into this WPBT Winter Gathering with the best game plan possible.

Pretty much none!

Crap! Re-reading all those links, just makes me want to get there even faster now!

So in one of my random acts of kindness I offer up here occasionally, may I suggest you do the same. Kat's advice is so solid and letting the things happen, generally does make for one of the best trips you could imagine having. Now having said that, there are of course the standards that no one should miss, if other plans haven't already been made.

They include, (but are never limited to)

- Thursday night at The Imperial Palace Geisha Bar.
There is drinking, -EV table games and just about the only shot you'll ever get at watching a Rock N' Roll Hippie, dance to the Freddie Mercury Dealertainers performance.

-Friday Night at The MGM.
There is drinking, the above standard fair of tables set up for some mixed games and usually, one of the best opportunities to hook up with someone you were really hoping to spend a little time with during the trip.

Oh and there's also this little Steel Panther thingy going down. Of course it's only for the real young at heart and under no circumstances EVER, should anyone be allowed to sleep through it!

The one firm plan I do have and also added to the roster for the very first time this year I believe, is Golf! We have a great core group committed and it's going to be a blast for sure! Special thanks go out to the bestest partner I could have ever asked for, in helping get all of this together.

You just plain RAWK CK!

Unique Friday events have been brought to the gathering by several others. I know that The Pinball Hall of Fame was a huge hit with the kids last year. There are also several planned Photography sessions for the avid fan of such things. Including a trip to the Neon Graveyard, that sounds like a really great opportunity for some amazing pics.

-Saturday of course, the Poker Tourney runs at Ceasar's.
Huge thanks to April, (assisted to perfection by F-Train I'm told!) for putting together such a great format and doing all the work for us degenerates.

-Sunday is a day of rest. BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
You'll most likely find the majority of the crowd at The I.P.'s Sports book. Watching and wagering on a game played with a spherical ball with points at each end. Oh and do I need to mention, there may be drinking involved.

So there's the rough basics but honestly, "plan not babes."

One last bit of advice if I may.

DO NOT LEAVE SOMETHING YOU WANTED TO DO, UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE!

It's amazing how these gatherings go by in a blur. So much fun and so much on the go. Plans get made, then change and then, they get changed once again. All in the name of fun. At the end of every single gathering I get told something along the lines of, "I saw you Friday and figured, we'd just hook up again on Saturday." But we never did.

I really look forward to meeting up with all of my old friends and hopefully, I'll catch each and every one of you. But honestly, I get pretty stoked about meeting as many of you that I haven't had the pleasure of hooking up with as of yet. So if you see me or one of my friends points you in my direction, PLEASE stop by and say hi. I'll be doing my best to do the same.

Now on to the important bits.....

Are we there yet?

How 'bout now?

NOW?

Come on!

Are we there yet?

*sigh

My sincerest thanks for dropping by....

BBOC review....

Last night FullTilt ran a charity event to help put a Bad Beat on Cancer. Fifty percent of the $10 buy-in, went directly to the charity. That was good enough reason for me to get involved. But then you add in that there were twelve FullTilt Pros AND AlCantHang making an appearance, I was just going to have to be there!

My first table draw found me sitting with The "Hendon Mob's" Ross Boatman. He was quite a bit more social in the chat than any other Pro I've ever had sitting at the virtual felt with me and honestly, quite the gentleman.

I do have to talk to him about his avatar though! You'd think that with all of his money and FullTilt backing him while he's on-line, that between the two of them they could've discussed a more accurate avatar with Julius Goat and Bayne!

Take a look at this shot and you'll see what I mean!

I mean seriously, mine is much more realistic looking right?

Anywho....

For the most part I TAG / Ultra NIT my way through the first hour of play. I got dealt a few hands, made a few draws and mostly took notes on who and what the action was all about. Nothing major really, I was just doing enough to stay alive.

Three spots to my right, there was a player with an penchant for what appeared to be blind stealing. He/She almost never got to a flop. It was raise pre, raise pre, raise pre and take down the blinds over and over again. This probably happened about 95% of the time, when ever it was my big blind. I had a moment here where I was just pretty darn sick of it. So after the typical folds between the two of us, I popped it back up and watched him fold immediately.

The moment I had though was,

I showed.

This brought on the best chat session of the night by far.

I got my first real chip stack here, on the 125th. hand.

He jammed on the turn and with me holding two of the kings, I just didn't believe I was up against big slick. I guess pocket Queens was possible there, but I went with my read and prayed for just the one Queen.

The only other hand of any real note, was a bizzare gut feel I went with. I don't know what it was exactly, but the hand played out really, REALLY weird! The betting, the timing and most of all the amount bet on the river to me, just didn't make any sense. Now I'm far from a NLHE expert my friends, (I think we all know that for certain!) but something just didn't seem kosher to me.

When I made the call here on this hand,

it was either hero or zero!

I went on for about three hours of good Poker and had myself a lot of fun. I love it when something charitable can go so well!

I busted out 55th. of the 314 runners that came out to the game.

I DO NOT have enough singles to discuss my losing hand, so we'll go with my opponent made an excellent read.

Ya...... uh..... that's it!

After all! He had 50% of the four players in the hand crushed AND, there was still one card in the deck that he could beat me with.

*sigh

My sincerest thanks for dropping by....

Be there and make a difference....

Last count I had was;

Frantic Friday : The 13th. Edition.... (NSFW)

No this is NOT the 13th. Frantic Friday! I think I'm coming up to number 50 or something like that. INSANE!

I was going to do a WSOP November 9 review today but for the real story, everyone with any sense knows that you can find a much better job of that over at Pauly's place! So honestly, why bother?

Instead I decided to make some kind of big deal about Friday the 13th. but when I started my day trying to get organized around these parts, it was becoming clear to me that I'd just written what just may be a pretty

See typically, I'm a big fan of Friday the 13th.

Not the movie goofballs! The day.

I've found that there seems to be a vast variety of

out there, on what exactly Friday the 13th. has to offer.

Some hate it and stay locked up inside, for fear of what the day may bring. Others jump on their bikes and celebrate the day no matter what the weather, down on the edge of Lake Erie with some Perch.

For me.... well.... I've just always managed to have some really great experiences on almost any Friday the 13th.!

Take last year for example.

I was sitting out on the back deck enjoying a nice cold beer, when all of a sudden there was a huge commotion coming from the house next door.

It seems that two of the neighbourhood hotties had gotten into a real

about something or other.

It turns out that Candy was all pissy about Robin doing her

so early in the morning.

Part of the problem was obviously the noise but apparently, there was more! It seems that Candy was also upset that Robin was not just looking but actually

while riding around the backyard!

I found out that while Robin was doing the mowing, Candy and her man Bob were out in their back room and in the middle of the throws of

Apparently at a very innapropriate time in their love making, Bob said something like, "Man doesn't Robin looks great in those

out there?"

Bob might have even gotten away with that one, that is until he also mentioned how much he was enjoying the

outfit Robin was wearing too!

I'd say silly boy but you know what?

That's just Bob and stuff like that well.... it just seems to be in his

to tell the truth!

So despite the fact that I was enjoying the show and wanted to give both Robin and Candy some exceptional

for their performance, I knew I was going to have to be the one to break that shit up!

So doing my best to seperate the two cuties, I tried to explain how much

it when we're all friends and and can't we all just get along?"

I told them to, "just blame it on Friday the 13th." and "let's move on with the rest of what's going to be a great day!"

Thankfully, they both agreed!

Then when I told them that they should probably

and make up, they both just stared at me like I had two heads.

"It's almost exactly the same as a French kiss girls." I explained, "only it's done down under!"

Once the laughter subsided, everyone went on to have a great Friday the 13th.

So even though nothing crazy like that has happened so far today, I'm certain that this Friday the 13th. will have it's moments too. At least they always seem to around here.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to run.

We're all getting together for a nice Fall walk through the woods today and I'm running a little behind.

Oh speaking of which!

I can't wait to tell Robin that I'll follow her along all of the trails. All I need to do now is come up with the right way to say

without making everyone in our group say

"here we go again!"

Happy Friday the 13th. everyone!

My sincerest thanks for dropping by....

I remember....

On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, I'll sit and reflect on everything I have and everything I can do. I'll thank the ones truly responsible, in my own personal way.

I'll look to the Heavens and thank those that may be there, through courage, effort and a belief in doing the right thing.

I'll look to the East and thank those that are still doing exactly that.

I'll go to our Memorial Square downtown, to personally thank those that have done their best on our behalf.

Today is the opposite of all of the things that Hallmark can't make me do. Like telling me when to show my love, or determining when I should bestow a gift upon a loved one.

You see to me, today is a day that actually deserves my attention.

I always try to remember and honestly, I can become pretty upset with myself for taking my freedom for granted. Today however, I dedicate to remembering as much as I can.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

John McCrae

For those that have given and those that continue to do so, I remember. For what ever it's worth, know that you'll always have my sincerest thanks and highest gratitude.

I remain steadfast in my belief that if you can't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them!

My sincerest thanks for dropping by....

Not as STUD-ly, as I was hoping....

Seeing that the Poker Slut game was STUD last night, I got myself signed up for some fun. Despite the end result, I did have a lot of fun as expected.

I couldn't get too much going at first, as it seemed that I was the only one getting any hands. That lead to a long run of collecting the antes and brings only. Of course that does help build the stack a little but as you can imagine, very little!

I finally ran a hand or two out with one or two others involved, and managed to hold on to win a few bigger pots. I felt like I was paying pretty good attention to detail and had enough game going, to hopefully get myself deep into the event.

I ran into this hand with SuperCon where with Scottc killing an open Ace, I was hoping SuperCon wouldn't buy that I had the split Aces. When I hit the two pair on fourth street and he still wasn't going anywhere, I figured SuperCon for a draw to the clubs. When SuperCon hit the Ace of clubs on fourth, it had to seem improbable at best that I had the Aces back. After fifth and sixth streets were delivered, I was starting to worry about a possible set that I may be up against. I was already willing to believe that it had become a busted draw but after seeing a few of the other holdings they'd shown, a small two-pair seemed more likely. I took the gamble on my read and went to seventh street, just hoping I was right.

The only other significant gamble I took, was when Numb counter-shoved for all-in on one of my completes. With two dead Aces I felt good about my Kings. If however he had the rolled up 6's, good for him and I would be gambling on a hard draw.

The gamble paid off and once again, I just got lucky at the right time.

I made one huge mistake late in the game, when I didn't pay attention early on to the dead outs of mine. I'd stayed in the hand far too long with what I was hoping was an open-ended straight flush draw. Only to whiff completely on any of my outs to make a hand. As I reviewed the hand wondering how I could have missed so many possible outs, I saw that the two cards to make the amazing hand I wanted had already come and gone. Hell! I even missed the two of my suit that were open folded.

HUGE mistake in STUD! One I'm not really used to either.

Scottc then ran over me on a couple of draw heavy hands I'd held. Again, with nothing coming to make a hand of any strength. Great game for Scotty too by the way! He came to final table as the shorty, with just 1270 something in chips. When I busted in third, he was a massive chip leader over second place. Hell of a run!

I was hoping for a better result to be honest, but to run deep in these things you just can't make the mistake that I did. I know SOOOOOOO much better than that, but the mental mistake still happened. That's all it takes to change your prospects for the win I'm afraid, one major blunder.

We'll get'em next time though!

:)

OK so....... I mookied....

Right off the bat though, apparently this place started two years ago today. That means with the other two locations to put fingers to keyboard, I've been at this crap for just about three years total.

Bizarre! Feels more like ten years or so to me.

To my friends that drop by occasionally whether out of utter boredom, (most likely) or for the Frantic Friday soft porn, (more likely!) my sincerest thanks for dropping by. I hold back nothing if given the chance, so the vast majority of you know exactly how I feel about each and every one of you.

So I tried to pull my weight for our little group and get a few extra Donkavatars out to last nights mookie. The count was 32 and even though I was hoping for way more, it was great to get a chance to sit down with a few folks that I hadn't been able to for far too long. I also know who exactly it was, that read here and showed up because I had asked. You know who you are too!

Thanks kids!

The game started out pretty routine.

Routine
–noun
1. a customary or regular course of procedure.
2. commonplace; typical or everyday activity.
3. regular, unvarying, habitual, unimaginative, or rote procedure.
4. an unvarying and constantly repeated formula.

I was dealt five "Bammers" in the first orbit.
After winning the first hand with one, I put the ole' 9-3 off away for the night.

I did manage to survive until first break somehow though.

Then I had a miracle 8-8 hold against jestocost's A-J, to take a little pressure off of the next few hands.

By second break, I was getting into a funky rhythm of sorts.

Fold.

Fold.

Fold.

Lather, rinse and repeat as often as required.

It was just as simple as nothing and I mean NOTHING, was being dealt my way. I stole a pot here and there and then I frequently also, had to fold to a re-raise every so often.

Then as things are apt to go, I went on the good card run.

Naturally in the progression of all things NLHE for me, it would fold around and I'd pick up the blinds and antes.

Then after about the gazzillionth jam all in by Lucko, I figured A-J just had to be gold. Natch, he flipped up the same hand for the chop.

A little later, Lucko jammed after having to show a Q-8 in his hand. When he jammed again about four hands later, I figured A-4 to be good. It was and I got the double up that got me deeper into the field.

In the final four, I made a move or two that I thought would get me an opportunity for the win. They got me a few extra chips.

Then I was dealt pocket Jacks in the SB. When it folded to me, I made it pot to go. TheMan in the BB made the call. A flop of baby cards made me comfortable that Jacks were good. I made the read of a big Ace so, my turn to jam.

TheMan flipped up pocket 7's for the set and yours truly, ended up being the first loser.

Not really what I had hoped for to be honest.

But a couple of things are for certain, I run like a God in the friends department AND, I just may be starting to get the hang of this NLHE thing after all.

Well OK, I'm lucky I have friends.
