BBT5 ToC review....

Sorry gang, not much to see here!

First things first however. If you haven't done it yet, WTF are you waiting for? Go over right now and say a huge thanks to AlCantHang and FullTilt Poker! Dude seriously brought us the goodies this time around. Don't put it off! Go right now! I'll be here when you get back.

Last night was one of those games. You know the ones I mean right? The ones where it's an ultra-nitty game, (the stakes were pretty high!) and the RNG picks that night to continually deal you crap.

With $34G up for grabs, you had to know it was going to be a long drawn out process, with the vast majority of the action coming pre-flop. For those games, it takes just a touch more than patience. It takes two starting cards and balls of steel to play'em.

Long story short in my case last night, I needed the balls because I certainly never got the cards.

I started the game squished between Hoy and VinNay.

After building a small pot pre and post flop, I checked the turn giving the aggressive Hoy a shot at betting out here.

I knew the river card killed any possible action from him, so I bet out 1/3 of the pot hoping to make it look suspicious anyhow. I guess he found me amusing?

While railing, Wolfy took a shot at my old man nittiness here.

I can't say I blame him as I have been garnering most of my BBT5 success from the style, but it just seemed like the appropriate time to throw a "Bammer" at the table.

VinNay limped into my BB from the SB. A play he was VERY prone to attempt. This time I let him and just checked my option. It looked like a good flop for me considering his limp and should a higher card come on the turn or river, I was going to try and grab this pot. I made my move on the river 10.

VinNay made the call with the flopped 7.

So first break comes and I've played exactly five hands total.

I'm down T$430 after the hour but one thing was going to change. I would not let VinNay continue to limp into my BB!

Well into the second hour, I finally get a pocket pair. After a standard raise into my BB from Heather, I popped it up to set the tone. When she flatted and I saw this flop,

I can man up and tell you I screwed the pooch. I bet out and despite taking her time, Heather folded and the small pot made it's way to my stack.

So second break comes along and now, I've played a total of exactly eight hands.

Well into the third hour, I pick up pocket pair numero duece. Just look at me go would you!

Hand nine is a winnah!

With my curser nearly locked over the fold button, I throw a hammer at JJ from the button.

So now I have no cards AND brutal timing, NICE!

With less than ten BB's in the stack, I have to make a move to chip up. Naturally, this is when I see my first Ace in the hole.

Six-handed, less than ten BB's and big slick.

Nice try me.

Huge congrats to the winners and special shouts, go out to JJ. He certainly played one hell of a game.

Many thanks to all of my friends who railed me along the way last night as well. So sorry that I gave you nothing to hoot and holler about.

My sincerest thanks for dropping by....

No BBT5 dream crusher here....

I wanted to be.
Really, I DID !

The BBT5 for me, was about one simple plan.
Get the fuck better at NLHE!
I even practiced for cripes sake!

I didn't want to be most improved, or any other shit like that. I wanted to come out and dominate if I could. I knew it would take one hell of a lot though, seeing as I'm a few years behind the cool kids playing the game in our circle. But a kid can dream right?

So I played in last nights Mookie and you know what? I didn't suck as bad as usual. No word of a lie, I made a few good reads based on notes and then I also did something else important, I folded a few good hands. That meant I won a few pots and races and of course, I lost a few along the way as well.

Great starting table!

This hand seemed to cause some hostility from heffmike. I believe the words were, "I can't believe that." concerning my playing pocket Jacks the way I did. Heff also said something like it's "easy to say after the hand." or something like that. I put myself ahead in that hand all the way. Good read/bad read, whatever. I make mistakes more than anyone else out there in this game I think and if I was wrong, I was certainly willing to live with it! If not, you wouldn't have seen my chips in the middle. I decided that it played out like a small pair with a shot at somehow making the straight. I got lucky I guess, I actually guessed right this time.

By the way if you haven't already done so, you really should take a look at the hard work heffmike put into the BBT5 leaderboard!

Early on in the game, I got lucky and hit a few flops.

The timing of a few of them was perfect too, so they helped bump me up the leader board by first break.

I hadn't really made a move yet, so I played this hand as an outright bluff and whadaya' know?

I'll be damned if the pot didn't slide right on over to me!

A little later I busted CK, who had jammed as a shorty.

My ladies got lucky!

As you can see in that scr. cap., I also donated some $ to The Dookie crowd. When I went rolled up for six of the first seven hands, I decided to sit out the rest of the way. I'm sorry for that to my table mates but honestly, just brutal!

Here's the gratuitous "Bammer" shot, where I took a good pot off of my buddy muhctim.

Here's a fold that felt right at the time but in retrospect,

AH, never mind! Hindsight is wasted energy.

Another good fold me!

Right after I folded here,

I of course lost a large pot in a race with RN here.

In the old days, I would of got all sucky and spewed off my stack right then and there.

These however, ARE NOT those days!

I got lucky myself and took a rather large pot off of Mojo here. I had a few outs going into the turn and river and one thing was for certain, I needed to win this hand, if I wanted to make it deeper in the event.

Luck was with me there!

Of course this is my space so, it's got to be time for an appearance by "The Bammer" right?

Right!

Here I manage to hold on.

But here,

I go down on the other side of the coin!

No dream crusher status for me.

So off I go to the T.O.C. and hopefully, I'll pick up my game even more.

A kid can always dream right?

My sincerest thanks for dropping by....

You should Mookie....

And YES....

it's THE Mookie !

I'm in.

You've now got 20 minutes.
P/W = vegas1 and of course, it's on the site that RAWKS!

BBT5 Invitational #6, key points of interest....

No HH's or crap about how great I played here! Those things just aren't my style. But there were a few key points in the game where I know for a fact, that I made the correct decisions and as there always needs to be, a few where I get extremely lucky for the win.

So here they are.

To start with, my starting table included Bruce Buffer and Roy Winston, both red letter pro's on FullTilt.

I don't know about you folks but when I end up with a starting table like that, I've already made up my mind to watch a few hands and see what I'm up against.

The two empty seats to my immediate left, were then filled with TroubleCat and Joe Speaker. Making the table dynamic even more interesting for me.

I was actually all good with it too. I found myself desiring more focus on every hand that was played and rather than making notes where I normally would have, I was writing a few down on a pad I had set beside me to start the game.

Around hand #54, I defended my BB with a sooted Acey-duecey. CK Pony had been playing quite a few hands and I believed this move, was just a button steal all the way. I just flatted the pre-flop raise.

Pretty good flop there!

Just 10 hands later, Pony jammed all-in pre for the last $1000 or so chips. I'm not a huge fan of the Jacks, (like some I know!) but a flat call and loss there, only puts me back at a starting stack. I made the call and prayed for a race.

I got one and by some small miracle, JJ's were OK after all. Lucky break!

Just a few hands later on I picked up the J-J's once again. On the button and with action in three of the four spots ahead of me, I was able to throw them away.

Good thing too!

Just a tick or so later I added about T$4000 to the stack, with back-to-back pocket ones. I played them both differently and fortunately for me, both worked out alright.

Then I went on a run of "Bammer's" that according to my notes, went 18 of 24 hands in a row. Action made it pretty easy to lay them all down so no harm, no foul there.

I was just completely card dead for a bit, all the while squished between the ginormous stacks of TroubleCat and Smokkee. The fun was also added to a touch, by having Jeremiah Smith join us at the table. Great! Another red letter pro.

I managed a few really great hands and got extremely fortunate to have run them into a few pretty damn good hands, on several seperate occasions. This propelled me to the chip lead by level #13.

I LOVE THAT SHOT!

Ten minutes later, I'd moved down to fourth overall. Courtesy double-ups to two shorties, while KK < A2 and AA was certainly no match for 78. But still relatively small losses just the same.

I'd then been moved to a table with F-Train, Rambler, TuscaloosaJohn and USAF_Trevor where I went on a run of some pretty damn fine cards. I also continued to show them as well. All to set up this one sweet, sweet little moment of Poker for me.

I'm sorry but when you get dealt that hand as much as I do, those little moments can be of great satisfaction when they do happen.

I also threw a "hammer" at this table, allowing me to set up a couple of truly monster pots with the mortal nuts. Several hands later, I find myself with T$ of 115,000 and in the lead of the last Invitational event. Just seven left to go!

Now do you want to see how lucky a kid can get, when the RnG has dealt him seven "Bammer's" in a row once again?

Check this shit out!

Just brutal!

A little later on, there came another key moment. This one involved some of the best poker advice imaginable from DRIZZ.

That simple encouragement helped propel me on to the win.

Special thanks to Push as well though, as the chop was simple, fair and easy to facilitate when we decided to split it all up.

Damn good poker Push!
Wish I could say the same about me.

;)

Also a HUGE thanks to every single one of you railers! It meant a ton to have you all at my side throughout the entire night. I just can't say thanks enough!

My sincerest thanks for dropping by....

Shit happens....

They say if you play with fire, you may get burned.

I did my best to play.

Some will tell you I sucked at the game.

Probably did too!

Frantic Friday : The Dear Reader Edition.... (NSFW)

My Dear Readers :

Hi gang, it's Bammer.

I know this is supposed to be one of those great Frantic Friday's where all you have to do, is drop in and check out some

or something like that.

But honestly, all the IM's, emails and letters you send trying to get me to keep this up every week, are starting to take their toll on me!

I mean come on! You all know I'll do whatever it takes to warm you up a little, on any given Frantic Friday. But I did say early on in the year, I WON'T be doing this every single week!

So let's get back on regular speaking terms right off the bat, shall we?

How about we start with a great big

I don't know about you, but that sure made me feel better!

Now a few of the comments about the lack of Frantic Friday's around here, have actually gotten a little heated. But I need you to listen up. Don't go getting all grumpy and shit! Of course, I'll still continue my search for the

just for you my dear readers.

It's just that I need to slow down a little. Here's a great example of why.

As you know, I'd do damn near anything for you out there! The other day as I realised it was almost a perfect example of a hot and

day in the

I made my mind up that I would have to take advantage of the situation for my readers.

That meant that FOR YOU, I would have to take the great trek

and make my way down to the waterfront.

As we all know where there's water, there's going to be

and once you find the beach, you'll always be able to find

willing to step up the competition.

Well this day was no exception. I mean, the grounds were covered with potential candidates for Ms.

and no matter where I looked, I was totally getting the show I was looking for.

IT... WAS... AWESOME!

Then one special lady caught my eye.

So she's down at the beach and both she and her friend, had this real Canadian

theme thing going on.

SO HAWT!

In fact it may have been a little too hot for me, as I suddenly found myself belting out a great big

that was loud enough for everyone to hear.

Then came the trouble. I was busted!

This incredible vixen was heading right in my direction too!

Busted, busted and SO VERY, VERY BUSTED!

She walked right up to me and asked what my problem was. What would you do? Think about that for a minute. What would you really do in that situation?

I didn't think at all. I did what came naturally to me and said, EXCUSE ME,

I think I got off pretty easy in this situation! Kira was very cool about it all and after she was done laughing at the idiot in front of her, we grabbed her buddy Jan and had a drink at the beach bar.

I just got lucky that they both had a good sense of humour.

How good was it?

Well when I also got busted checking out the killer

Jan was sporting, all she said was that she knew one thing!

I know one thing too.
Chicks with a sense of humour just plain RAWK!

So I avoided disaster this time and got away with one at the beach. That's why I think I need to slow down just a tad. I don't want to go pissing anyone off in my search. So stick with me and I'll do my best to take care of your needs dear reader.

Thanks for your interest in the fun that is, Frantic Friday.

Now if you'll excuse me, Kira and Jan have asked if I'd take some pictures for them today. They really liked the ones I took the other day and have actually called me a "photographer."

LMAO!

I hope they're thinking along the same lines as they were before, because I know one thing for sure. Despite the incredible heat of that day down at the beach, I don't think I've ever craved a

more than I did right then!

;)

My sincerest thanks for dropping by....
