The night that was....

Man, it feels like FOREVER since I've dropped into this little corner of the intertubles myself! I think I just may have been addicted to the place just a touch, based on my previous post frequency for the last three years or so.

I'm of course not going anywhere else soon, it's just amazing to me that missing a week or so hasn't had the effect that missing a day used to have, back in the day.

The weekend around here was spent gambooling on ponies, slots and of course, the golf course. The overall results for this kid however, were just slightly better than break-even.

Golf = Holes won on the last hole, Poles vowed revenge!

Ponies = STOOPID GAME FOR JERKS!

Slots = Despite my lack of enthusiasm for pulling a handle as a form of recreation, the local Lobstermania managed to make me a break-even playah for the entire day.

Lobstermania paid for the STOOPID ponies, paid for Dinner and somehow the penny slots as trivial as we all think they are, managed to pay for what may be called a "serious" tab, at each and every watering hole I happened to frequent along my merry way.

This pie-eyed piper as a matter of fact, dropped a penny slot voucher, (seriously! Paper! Just a second or so of ching-ching and a slip falls out? Is it just me, or is the music of coins hitting the tray the thing that's missing from the whole Casino vibe these days?) at the bar to cover cocktails for 12.
~FWIW my brudders, four of us on a rather exceptionally aged Macallan.

I hit a little on the BIG side!

Share the wealth with loved ones right?

Peb's ran like, well.... Peb's!

She ran a profit at Golf, HATED the (did I mention STOOOOOPID!) ponies and of course, nickle slotted her way to covering the entire day for the two of us. Well actually, she prolly covered the night for almost everyone truth be told but hey, I'd already bought everyone their wildest dream in drinks so you know, what's a girl supposed to do?

Here's part of the night, (way after the STOOPID ponies!) in pictures.

This loser,

ran with the HAWT chic,

all night long.

Lucky loser!

Brudder C.C., Queen K and of course DonK-EH, were all there for the fun.

Around here, there just is no fun without these kids!

Have I ever told you my dear reader, about.... Gueber?
(pronounced gway-burr)

Hmmmmmmm.....

Gueb's is a mix of Latino heat and Canadian cool. She's not actually my problem, she's all Brudder C.C's dilemma.

I've actually got an idea!

Which one in that picture is Gueber?

One is Brudder C.C.'s wife, the other is his Sister.
You decide!

My sincerest thanks for dropping by....

Sunday morning nitting....

No, NOT knitting!

Although I do know a pretty HAWT knitter, that I am rather fond of!

Peb's has been killing the cashes in these 90 player $3.30 SnG's, whenever she's been playing in the mornings. Not being able to sleep, I fired one up just for the hell of it.

Thirty seven hands in, I peddle the nuts for a quick double-up.

Nit = 1
Pearl = 2

Eighty six hands in and not surprisingly of late, I haven't seen another playable hand.

Appropriately enough on the 93 hand, I jam some nuts once again and end up with a triple up for my efforts.

To my amazement, it takes me all the way down to final table!

Nit = 1
Pearl = 2%

One hundred and ten hands into the game I finally bust out, with some pretty re-donkulous stats.

Nit = 1
Pearl = 3 hands TOTAL!

Fascinating game this nitting, Uh.... I mean Poker.

The Blogger news....

We'll start today's news with an apology.

I mentioned to Riggs and a few others that it's been a little too busy for my liking around these parts lately and honestly, that's a pretty large understatement! The end result of all the action it seems, is a lack of time to dedicate myself to flooding the intertubles with my drivel, as much as I always have.

For those of you that continue to drop in regularly, only to see the same old crap still posted at the top of the blog, many thanks and even more, my apologies for becoming a slacker.

Now on to our top story, which just happens to come from local news.

Five day old Taylor;

and her five day, 13 minute old sister Sawyer

graced the cave with their presence recently. Both new neighbours are as you can see, quite beautiful and very inspiring to the entire Bedrock community!

Big sister Emma was quoted saying,

"Baby sit for Ice Cream? DEAL!"

In Sports and Entertainment;

No real time for pokery goodness lately either but when I do get the chance, I certainly like to donate to the masses as much as I ever have. I actually had one hand recently where I was absolutely amazed I managed to get paid!

In Financial news;

My six week contract employment ended Friday. It was six weeks that put me through Hell and back and if you know anything at all about me, you'll know that I loved every friggin' moment of it!

Instead of a handshake and many thanks for the great job as I was preparing to head out of the building Friday, I was simply told, "See you Monday Son." by Ma & Pa Canada.

BEST.PRAISE.EVAH!

So I guess this kid will be remaining a little on the 'busy' side for just a bit longer. By the sounds of things as of 4:30PM Friday, perhaps busy enough to call it a full time gig and all.

I'll take it!

I'm no Astin, BUT....

It continues to run about 101F outside right now, so this heat has me thinking about tonight's dinner.

To start the meal, I headed down to the garden for what we like to call around these parts, one of each.

They would be one Cherry Bomb, one Banana and of course old faithful, the Jalapeno.

The day before I'd made a 24 hour sun-soaked fiesta salsa, with two of each in every jar.

A recipe I'd learned back in Akumal and might I add, from a very good friend. FWIW since the whole "Mayan Riviera" BS, the place has really lost it's luster to me. That's of course IMHO. But I just think the whole 'Sales' thing, is ruining the last great destinations we have on the planet. The first time I enjoyed Akumal, I did it with 16 locals and four other adventurists. The last time I visited back in 2000 something, I might as well have travelled to Disneyland.

Anywho....

I grabbed a bit of 80/20 and as per my old family recipe, I mixed it 80/20.

Chef'ish, (in my case anyway) talk for 80/20 ground beef, mixed with an extra 20% ground pork. For the foodies out there YES, the cheese is in the meat.

It was 109F out there so for Peb's and I, fries were totally out of the question! There were however some pretty damn good Louisiana Hot Sauce ripples in the cupboard, sorta' lookin' for a taste.

Oh and the oval shape of the burgers?

When the Paninis come out of the oven right at 4:30PM I always say, MAKE THE BURGER FIT THE DAMN BUN!

Yes that's the salsa on my burger and yes, it was delicious!

Who needs to actually breathe while eating anyways?
